Frequently Asked Questions
Permanent Makeup
-
Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing also known as micro-pigmentation, derma-pigmentation, and permanent cosmetics. Permanent makeup artists use tattooing techniques to apply designed that would resemble makeup. Eyelining, color enhancement of skin on the face, eyelids, lips, and eyebrows are all areas that permanent makeup is traditionally applied to. It results in enhanced facial features that would typically be done with temporary makeup.
Permanent makeup is virtually the same thing as getting a typical tattoo. A permanent makeup artist will use tattoo machines to implant ink into the dermis, just getting shy of how deep a regular tattoo will penetrate. Complications with permanent makeup include allergies to pigments, scars, skin cracking/peeling, infection, blistering, granulomas, and keloids.
Many permanent makeup artists use regular tattoo ink which can change color over time and have dangerous minerals like cobalt and mercury in them. A well informed and experienced permanent makeup artist will always use safe inks and techniques. With permanent makeup that involves the brows, usually a powder fill like technique is used to make the brows look denser and fuller. The issue with permanent makeup for brows is its inability to create the natural and full look that microblading successfully achieves.
In the worst case scenario, unknowing clients will go to a traditional tattoo artist that will outline brows and fill them with color, making a solid eyebrow look that is very unnatural and usually regrettable. These tattoos are usually much more permanent lasting decades.
Artists these days, including myself, are more educated, well trained, with variety of safe products to use and several services to offer to suit your personal needs and preference.

Powdered brows, sometimes known as ombre brows or shading, utilize a similar procedure to micro/nano brows but have some additional advantages. Many people prefer this method due to its soft and natural look and less invasive nature.
With powdered brows, instead of using strokes to fill in eyebrow hairs, the needle is used to draw both dashes and dots on the targeted area. The pigment is deposited onto the skin, which causes it to last longer than microblading.
-
MicroShading is a combination of blading and Shading and is done with a more standard tattoo machine, using an electronic device that inserts pigment into first layer of the skin and results in a powder-brow look, rather than hair-like strokes. This is the ultimate brow treatment for clients with sensitive, oily skin and with heavy blood flow. It offers the best of both 'powdered' and 'hair strokes' effects combined together to achieve a beautifully natural yet defined brow. The inner brow is feathered with hair strokes while the tails are powdered to achieve the perfect definition.

-
If a technician tells you only need one visit to complete your procedure and you will not need a touch-up, then they are not fully committed to a finished result.
Yes! A touch-up session after eight weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently, and the outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up color well during the first session. These issues get fixed at the touch-up appointment. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, and brow thickness and more strokes may need to be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch-up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch-up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains their color for the whole year!
It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal and about 6-8 weeks for the color to set in fully. You'll notice the color is lighter than expected two weeks into the healing process; the skin will have an opaque milky-looking quality. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. Milk skin happens when the tissue is still healing on the inside, even though the skin's surface has already healed. The procedure's actual color will not be present until the healing process is complete.
-
The average longevity of the results of powder brows is 12 to 18 months without additional touch ups. What we mean by that is, your brows will look good and the color will look intense enough for up to 1.5 years. The pigment itself will stay in the skin longer than that, but your brows won’t look defined anymore if you don’t get a powder brows touch up.
There are many factors that can make your powder brows fade quicker, just like there are cases where powder brows can last up to 3 years, or longer.
That’s why it’s important to be aware of all the factors that affect the longevity of powder brows, so that you can decide whether the treatment is worth getting, and what to expect if you do get powder brows.
-
Pain varies for everyone because each person has a different pain tolerance. A strong anesthetic gel with 4% Lidocaine and 2% Tetracaine is used to minimize the discomfort. Other factors, such as menstrual cycles, can also affect sensitivity. We recommend that you do not have a PMU procedure while in pain, like cramps, headache, backache, or pain associated with health conditions. These pains make PMU procedure discomfort much less tolerable.
-
My client's health and safety come first, so I only use the highest quality pigment available and utilize health standards above what is required by law. Most pigments are 100% vegan, never tested on animals, and FREE of heavy metals. Unlike many semi-permanent makeup brands, I do not use pigments with heavy metals or questionable ingredients. I carefully select my pigments to ensure the safety of all my clients.
All the pigments used are cosmetic grade, meaning they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The pigments used are exclusively for PMU and allow an easy application with excellent color retention. All hand tools and needles are single-use, come in a sterilized package, and are disposed of after each client.
-
There is no downtime. However, the brow will take about ten days to heal fully. You can walk out the door, ready to show off your new brows. Initially stronger in color but will soften in 2-3 weeks.
-
We use a small needle to place pigment into the skin with a quick hand motion, resulting in a pixelated effect of powder makeup.
-
• Do NOT drink alcohol or coffee or any caffeinated drinks before the procedure (at least 24hrs for alcohol)
• Do NOT take Advil or other blood thinners such a Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to your procedure. Extra strength Tylenol can be taken if you have low pain tolerance.
• If you have recently tanned this will affect the outcome of the healed color.
• If you’ve had laser removal of previous work done by someone else, the treated area has now more scar tissue and can affect the outcome of the result. More treatments may be necessary to have the skin take the color.
• Botox should be done 2-3 weeks before or 2-3 weeks after the procedure.
• Avoid exercising the day of procedure as this will open up the pores.
• Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
• No waxing, threading or tinting 3 days before
• Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. Over the next 2 days it will appear even darker and thicker as scabs begin to form. You must let the scabs naturally flake off bit by bit. It will take up to 14 days for scabbing to be over.
• You may NOT get the area wet for too long or apply any kind of products (except what I provide for your aftercare) for at least 10 days after. NO makeup on the area for 2 weeks.
-
We choose the shape of your new brows together based on your face shape and natural hairline. Pictures of other brows or celebrity briws can only be used as inspirations if you don't have the same face-shape. Whether you are just looking to enhance the fullness of your natural brow, or we can create a whole new shape base on your face shape and natural hairline, we will take it one step at a time, each sessions. Your new shape will be applied with a cosmetic pencil first so that you can see how it will look on your face. We will not start the procedure until you approve and are happy with what we have created.
-
No, not with the Brow Building method. Because individual strokes are made to closely mimic natural brow hair, most of the time the results are hardly distinguishable.
-
Yes, because the pigments used in the service are natural, plant based pigments, they are semi-permanent.. But, unlike tattoo ink, they will fade true to color. As your brows fade, they will look soft and natural. And because the pigment is only placed in the outermost layer of skin, the pigment will not bleed outside of the exact place that it was deposited. This means no blurry blue/grey/green/orange brows. Factors such as sun exposure and certain skincare products and services can also speed up the fading process.
-
Keep in mind that your brows will appear darker for the first couple of weeks than they will once they have healed. Once they have healed, we can fix any minor imperfections during your 4 week touch up appointment. There is a removal process, there is no guarantee, but it does generally give great results.
As with all cosmetic procedures, individuals should not make their choices lightly. We always recommend clients do their research, understand the procedure and compare different artists’ work and portfolio when making their decisions. Our brow technicians will do their utmost to shape and style the eyebrows to the clients satisfaction prior to the procedure.
Every effort will be made to achieve an even appearance, but please realize our faces are never perfectly symmetrical. Uneven appearance can be fixed during the touch up session. Pigment discoloration and color correction can also be fixed during the the touch up session. Microbladed brows will eventually fade away if no additional touch ups are done.
-
Absolutely, this is a great option for those who suffer from Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or have been through Chemotherapy. Microblading can even correct past wax catastrophe, over tweezing, or the normal hair thinning that occurs post menopause.
-
No, this service is not for those who are pregnant and or breastfeeding.

It is essential that you follow these instructions after your eyebrow session:
Day 1-7: Read the aftercare instructions carefully. It will be sent to you through text message. For oily skin, gently blot your eyebrows with tissue every hour for 24H to remove excess sebum followed by cleaning them with damp cotton pad 3-4X a day for 3 days. on Day-4 this time, do not clean/touch your brows except when it gets really itchy, gently apply the ointment (given to you in the aftercare kit) with a cotton swab to relieve itchiness and make sure your hands are washed.
Please avoid the following during 7 days healing process;
Increased sweating
Practicing sports
Swimming
Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
Sun tanning or salon tanning
30 days after the procedure: do not any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the forhead/around the brows
Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micropigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment
Sleeping on your side- pigment will rub off your pillow and usually the brow tail will disappear-use neck pillow to sleep on.
Spicy foods
Smoking
Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
Driving in open air vehicles such a convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab
Before showering apply a thin layer of post-care cream to protect your eyebrows from moisture. During the shower keep your face away from the shower head.
Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post-microblading procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.
The healing of deeper wounds might last between 14-21 days. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape-design is recommended only after this period.
If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please call your artist immediately to discuss further instructions. Consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the artist and to the WA State Health Services, Drugs and Medical Devices Group.

PERMANENT EYELINER - a less invasive form of tattooing. Using state-of-the-art machines that consists of a low frequency needle, the artist will insert pigment into the first layer of skin on your eyelids, thus ‘permanently’ drawing your eyeliner in the exact shape that you want.
The Benefits
Saves you time and money.
No more smeared eyeliner.
Enhances your natural eye color.
Thicker looking eyelashes.
A flawless look around the clock.
No more stretching out the delicate skin surrounding your eyes.
Say goodbye to flakes of eyeliner on your contacts.
AFTERCARE:
No water, cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on treated area for 7 days.
DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.
Avoid heavy sweating for the first 7 days.
NO facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 7 days.
For the first 3 days: You may experience slightly puffy to swollen eyes, heavy lids, light sensitivity and bloodshot pupils. Your eyes may feel more swollen than they appear. Please try to sleep in an elevated position to help reduce swelling at night. Apply an icepack on first 8 hours after the procedure, for 10-15 mins on each side. Change your pillowcase on first night and avoid sleeping on the side for 7 days.
Eyes will be swollen and perhaps ‘crusty’ upon waking. The swelling will disappear from being in an upright position and increasing circulation to the area. Avoid heavy lifting, physical exertion and crying.
Pigment within the epidermis will begin to flake off in little stitch looking lines, although some people do not notice the exfoliation at all. Do not scratch/ pick!
Blinking helps to eliminate the small pieces of pigment and epidermis which has detached. Do not scratch/ pick!
All shedding should be complete in 30 days. You’re safe to put your face back in the shower spray.
Long-term Care: Use a good sunscreen, sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics
If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics
Touch-Up is needed after 8 weeks or so! Price is $125+ or whatever is the current rate!

Precautions:
No alcohol or caffeinated products 24 hours before treatment and no aspirin or blood-thinning medication five (3) days prior.
Absolutely no injections of Novocaine should be administered ten (10) days before treatment. Please advise Nina of any current injections.
All lip makeup should be removed and the skin thoroughly cleansed. I prefer you do this before your arrival.
For optimal results, the skin to be treated should not be irritated. • If you use or have used Retin-A or any other medications, please advise Nina.
Pain Preparation:
Though the sensation of micro pigmentation implantation is minimal, clients respond differently. Some will feel a stronger sensation than others. Overall, procedures require minimal pain preparation. However, some clients use some sort of preparation for the treatment as a mental comfort. Many have taken over-the-counter Tylenol, 30 minutes before treatment. This will not interfere with the procedure. Any physician prescribed pain relieving medication for which you have arranged, should be taken as directed, usually after your arrival at the studio. Please advise Nina of any medications taken.
For clients with any history of cold sores/fever-blister/herpes, even if it was when you were a child, contact your physician and request a prescription for Zovirax, Valtrex or Famvir. Take 2 days before the procedure, the day of the procedure and 2 days after the procedure as directed and repeat on all visits. This procedure can cause symptoms to appear without taking preventative medication.
Post-Procedure – “AfterCare”:
The “aftercare” procedures are as important to the retention of the pigment as the actual implantation process. During this period, the primary objective is to allow the bonding process to be completely sealed inside the dermis. Your compliance will ensure that you receive maximum benefits from the procedure and reduce inconvenient follow-up visits.
Judgment of your results should be deferred until 4-8 weeks following the final procedure. Immediately following the procedure, your look may be harsh and painted on looking, but it will soften up and look more natural as you heal. Again, the intensity of the procedure is most prominent following the procedure itself. Over the next 3-7 days, the outer layer of color will appear crusty and start to flake off. Special care should be exercised while the treated area is healing. Under no circumstances should you pick, scratch or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the crusty material. Removing of the crusts may result in the removal of the actual pigment and/or infection may occur. It is important that this protective “cover” stay on during the healing process (three to seven days). As the outer layer flakes off, you will notice that the color is lighter and softer. For the following two weeks, color that was implanted under the skin will move forward. After 6-8 weeks, your healing process should be complete.
After you leave, an ice pack should be applied for 10 to 15 minutes each hour for the first 4-8 hours following the procedure. The ice is used to reduce swelling and provide comfort. After the first 24 hours the use of ice is no longer beneficial.
No soap, cleanser or shampoo on the treated area for seven (7) days. Soap and cleansers are designed to remove any foreign substances. Obviously, this is detrimental to the bonding process required for the pigment to become permanent. Toothpaste and mouthwash are considered “soap” and will remove lip color, so proceed with caution when using.
All cleansing should be done with a clean Q-tip dipped in cool water and gently dabbed on the treated area. Do not rub the area in any way.
Apply vitamin A and D ointment with a Q-Tip on the procedure area for the first 24 hours. Then for the rest of the week apply Vitamin E oil. Apply to the treatment area with a Q-tip several times per day (Do not use mineral oil or petroleum based products such as Vaseline.) This is to be done in a gentle dabbing motion as not to disrupt the pigmentation bonding process. This will keep the area moist and accelerate the healing. Do not let the area dry out, keep moist all times. Check your lips every thirty (30) minutes, re-apply ointment as necessary. Do not press or rub when applying ointment. Apply an extra heavy coat of ointment to the treated area before bedtime, bath, after washing adjacent areas, and immediately upon rising in the morning. If any form of redness, tenderness, drainage, fever or rash occurs, please contact Nina or your health care provider immediately!
Baths and showers are permitted but do not wash, scrub or touch the treatment area. Hot, steamy baths and showers should be avoided completely. After two weeks, you may resume all regular activities.
When brushing teeth for the first three (3) days, coat lips with a lot of ointment before brushing and use a minimal a mount of toothpaste.
For the first two (2) days, use a straw when drinking liquids; avoid sandwiches, biting into fruit or foods that might cause friction to the lips. Smoking is discouraged for optimal results.
Do not use any lipstick or cosmetics on or near the treated area for seven (7) days. The procedure, even after the first treatment, looks so natural that you can feel very secure appearing in public without any additional makeup on the affected area. This rule applies also to non-allergic makeup, as it may contain chemicals that interfere with the bonding process. If or whenever you do begin using cosmetics again, invest in a new lipstick to support your new look. This will eliminate the possibility of bacteria breeding in an old container.
For at least two (2) weeks, you need to minimize exposure to the sun. I discourage swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated pool water.
If needed, over-the-counter Tylenol is recommended for temporary relief of pain.
If you use Retin-A, do not allow it close to the treated area for thirty (30) days. It will cause the area to peel and lighten.
Since your procedure is facial, I recommend you sleep on a clean satin pillowcase for seven (7) nights. This will minimize the loss of pigmentation caused by rubbing against a cotton, textured pillowcase as you sleep.
Special care should be exercised while the treated area is healing. Under no circumstances should you pick, scratch or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the crusty material. Removing of the crusts may result in the removal of the actual pigment and/or infection may occur. It is important that this protective “cover” stay on during the healing process (three to six days).
Always use good health habits.
If you have any questions after you get home, feel free to call.
Variations to these recommendations are not encouraged and will most likely affect the final out come of your procedure, if not totally remove the implantations.
*Note*
• Swelling, oozing, and some redness are normal the next day after the procedure for some clients. The use of Benadryl over the counter and keeping your face vertical is helpful.
• Shedding your color and outer epidermal skin is normal during the first 3-4 days following treatment.
• At the end of three weeks, your procedure should be healed. Please contact your technician if you feel that the treatment area needs to be touched up. If this touch up is needed, this is to be done free of charge. Please do not wait any longer than 3-6 weeks after the initial procedure, as there could be an additional charge. Should additional touch-ups be required, understand that there will be an additional charge for the service.
• Should you suspect an infection in or around the procedure area, please contact Nina or your health care provider immediately!

Regular Touchups are recommended at least once a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. Some clients like to keep them fresh looking and come in before their 12 month mark while others wait 12-18 months in between. Consult with your artist by sending a bare brow pictures to assess when to come back
A General Color Retention Guideline is:
Blondes and light taupe shades may need to be refreshed every 6 to 12 months.
Mid-tone Browns may need to be refreshed every 9 to 12 months.
Dark Browns may need to be refreshed every 9 to 24 months.
Very Dark Brown and Black colors may need to be refreshed every 6 months, especially if the client has pink to ruddy skin undertones. It is a fact that clients with pink to red undertones will pull gray or even blue-gray. Even if the artists uses a very warm colored pigment, the color could possibly pull gray-blue over time if you don’t have frequent touch-ups. This is the nature of the skin chemistry which Technicians can only control with frequent touch-ups.
Special note about pigment retention for those individuals with Alopecia or Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia, and those with Trichotillomania: Artists with decades of experience in this field has recognized the special needs of those with Alopecia conditions. Clients may need extra visits to complete the project.
Alopecia: Once the brows are completed the brow color can look “ashy” due to the thickening of the epidermis.
Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia: The client may have some areas that will not take the pigment due to the scarring nature of their condition.
Trichotillomania: There is usually a lot of scarring around the hair follicle due to pulling. Therefore, the crispness of the look of the hair stroke cannot be guaranteed and some areas may not take at all.
Please note — Any semi-permanent makeup procedures requires regular touch-up!
-
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals.
No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You’ll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
-
Once you and Nina have decided on the best brow shape, any hair within that shape can stay and will only make the work look more natural. Any hair outside the shape can be tweezed just as you would normally do with your normal brow maintenance.
-
Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 6-7 weeks after initial session as pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal. The skin gets really tender during the touch up session if its not fully healed.
-
The cosmetics implantation technique deposits color pigment into the upper reticular layer of the skin and is considered permanent because it cannot be washed off. Unlike traditional tattoos performed on the body, permanent cosmetics professionals do not use traditional tattoo ink (dye). Permanent cosmetics pigment is more delicate and designed to work with the skin’s undertones and to mimic hair. Every person’s skin is different in regarding pigment retention. Factors which effect longevity of permanent cosmetics are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure. You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above.

The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
-
Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary.
To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.
-
In order to achieve the best results, it is best to follow the pre and post care instructions.
Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following:
- Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen and any vitamins that may thin your blood for 72 hours.
- Avoid tanning so we can assess your natural skin tone.

After your procedure, clients MUST follow these instructions:
- Within 2 hours after the procedure, clean brows using a q-tip and lightly moisten with distilled or cooled downed boiling water. Gently wipe away the old healing balm and any lymphatic liquid (clear yellowish liquid) that may have built up. Lightly pat dry with tissue and using a new q-tip, re-apply healing balm to the brows.
- Make sure to apply a light layer of healing balm morning and night to brows for at least 5-7 days.
- Do not over apply healing balm.
- Do not immerse brow area in water for 14 days. When showering, make sure to avoid face area. When cleaning or washing face, make sure to avoid brows and clean around it.
- Do not put makeup on the brow area for a minimum of 10 days. Microbladed area is an open wound, using makeup may cause infections.
- Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen and any vitamins that may thin your blood for 24 hours.
- Brow area will feel slightly itchy as it heals and will start to lightly scab over. Do not peel or pick at the scabs as this can affect the outcome and pigmentation.
- Do not go swimming, tanning or into saunas for at least 14 days.
- No face scrubs or chemical peels at least 2 weeks after.
-
Microrblading, shading or ombre is not suitable for the following candidates:
- Using Accutane
- Have heart conditions or using heart medications
- Have diabetes (will require a physician’s note)
- Have skin disease or irritations
- Have had Botox in the last 2 weeks
- Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peels in the last 2 weeks
- If you're under 18.
- Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine
- Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician’s note.
- Pregnant or nursing clients! Those who may want to microblade can be done at your own discretion. We suggest discussing with your doctor first. Microblading is still considered a tattoo, and just like with wine or sushi consumption, it is a personal choice to do so during this period.
* We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who we deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason. Our brow technicians make the decision to microblade an individual based on their own discretion. *
-
Yes! I am so proud to say I have performed permanent cosmetics to darker skin clients and surprisingly have almost perfect pigment retention. Darker skins are particularly good candidates for Microshading or Ombre/Shading procedures.

Many women choose to have to have eyeliner done before face lifts so they will look better during the recovery period. If you are considering to have your brows done, wait until after the healing process before having your eyebrow procedure.
-
We don't accept clients who have ever used Latisse or any lash enhancement products such as Rapid Lash, Grande Lash, etc. The lash growth products may thin the membrane of the capillaries and could contribute to a pigment migration that cannot be corrected.

You can have your brows done with your lash on fleek, no problem! But, if you want to have eyeliner done it requires to have your fake lashes be removed before the procedure and to wait until 8 weeks time before you can have lash extension applied again.

Consider it a beautiful investment in yourself. Permanent make-up actually costs little compared to lifelong daily make-up expenses as it doesn’t run or wash off!
When you go bargain shopping for the lowest price you may end up paying much more in the end, trying to correct unsatisfactory results. Your face is too important to chance having such serious work done by a technician who does not have the experience, training or artistic talent to achieve the best result. Do a lot of research about the artist you plan to chose, ask for sample pictures of their before and after work (if not shown on her social media pages) ask for the healed result pictures as well. The consultation is a half-hour appointment which may include a patch test and photographs, if needed and it's free. Prices are quoted at your consultation.

In most cases, Nina can significantly improve your old brow tattoo, depending on how much time you want to invest, how patient you are for the healing process and whether or not your skin is scarred. Correcting old tattoo is never going to give you the same beautiful brow as I could have created on virgin brows, but certainly an improvement is possible.
When client think.... “only need a touch-up of a work done elsewhere” the client may not realize that a “color correction” is often needed, more work and time consuming, more products and disposable to use and not just a simple touch-up. A consult is important to assess the situation. Before booking a consultation, please send a photo via email to better assess if color correction is needed which can be done in my studio or a color removal/laser which can be done somewhere else.

We take all proper precautions for a safe session by using sterilized equipment, new needles and in a sanitized environment. Should clients follow our pre and post care instructions, there should be minimal risks or complications . Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, it could be possible for certain individuals.
We suggest a pigment patch test for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to:
- Topical makeup products
- Gold, silver and nickel
- Hair dyes
- Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior

Bridal Makeup
-
We cater to any number. Rest assured that I will employ expert assistants if large numbers are involved.
-
The makeup takes a minimum of thirty minutes per person to get done.
Hairstyling can take about forty minutes per person depending on the style chosen. All in all, set aside at least 90 mins. to 2 hours for hair & makeup. Keep this in mind, especially, if you are a bride so you can proceed with your dress change, photo session and go to the ceremony without the rush.
-
- Please bring photos of your preferred hair and makeup
- Hair should be washed WITHOUT a conditioner
- Come in bare faced with plenty of time to spare
- No rush. No texting/calling while on session
-
At least three to six months or a year. Good makeup artists are difficult to book during wedding peak season.
-
Yes, it’s best that you do this as you get to test out your look on your big day. You also get to discuss your concerns and how you want to look, and you get to see how your skin will react to the makeup products. Trial makeup is not only for brides, anyone can have their trial makeup session prior to a special event.

Traditional makeup is the conventional way of applying foundation. It comes in a liquid, cream, pressed powder and cake form and applied with the use of sponges or brushes. Traditional foundation has more opaque and richer coverage. Shu Uemura, MAC, Makeup For Ever, Bobbi Brown, Benefit Cosmetics, Laura Mercier and Revlon are some of the makeup products that I use.
Airbrush makeup is a liquid makeup that is sprayed on the face using an airbrush kit. It delivers full coverage but it is more lightweight, natural and flawless looking. It is long-lasting, and rub- and water-resistant, yet easy to remove. The brands I use for airbrush are Temptu, Makeup For Ever, MAC Pro and Mehron.
